This documentary photo-ethnographic exhibition is a journey into the agricultural past of the Alentejo region, portraying daily life, traditions and agricultural work in the region between 1910 and 1930. It follows a chronology, from the farmhouse through customs, costumes and work, to the end of the harvest.
The photographic collection, belonging to the Casa da Cultura de Orada, in the parish of Borba, is the result of a collection made by AntΓ³nio Rocha, a native of the municipality of Alandroal and a lover of popular culture.
This is a tribute to the past and an invitation to reflect on the importance of preserving the cultural and historical identity of the region. It aims to safeguard and disseminate the memories and traditions of our people so that they are not forgotten and to show how agricultural work was carried out.
It will be on display from 3 September to 31 December 2025 at the Borba Interactive House Museum.
