‘𝗔 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗵𝗮 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮’ by Nuno Lourenço

‘𝗔 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗵𝗮 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮’ is a record of Nuno’s time in the Netherlands between 2003 and 2012. Consisting of a small set of four hybrid watercolours and a large series of small watercolours, this record covers everything from the view from his balcony to his specific place of work, from the bus stop to the bar he frequented and, of course, the various perspectives of the Dutch landscapes that inspired him so much.

This project was based on the idyllic and mostly positive idea of what he had experienced in that country until 2012. This project was part of the final exam for the Visual Arts and Design Teacher course, which lasted a whole year of research.
‘𝗔 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗵𝗮 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮’ has already travelled to the Jorge Araújo Library at the University of Évora’s Colégio dos Leões in the summer of 2024 and to the José Saramago Municipal Library in Avis in March 2025.

With a history of more than five hundred years, it was the home of Damião de Góis, a 16th century Portuguese humanist, and later of the illustrious conductor and composer Luís de Freitas Branco. Monte dos Perdigões is a place characterised by free thinking and by the work that has been done.

Borba’s Interactive House Museum is celebrating International Museum Day and European Museum Night with a night-time visit to the Talhas Winery.

The candlelit tour of the 19th-century winery, housed in the family home of grandfather Mariano Rézio – a founding partner of the Borba Cooperative Winery – takes you on a journey through the ancient technique of making wine in clay jars.

‘The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities’ is the theme for 2025, with a focus on Intangible Heritage, Youth and New Technologies.

In Borba, the Rézio family was one of the first to embrace vine growing and played an important role in the evolution of Borba’s wines.

The walls of the cellar hold smells, memories, conversations and work. Explore on this guided tour the history of the Rézio family, this house and winery, their role in the history of Borba wines and the perfect recipe for this primitive winemaking technique.

Dorine Jansen was born in the Netherlands, but has lived in Alto Alentejo since 2009.

She expresses herself creatively through the ‘dot technique’, where dots of paint are placed in patterns on a surface.
In this workshop led by the artist, each participant will have the opportunity to learn about the origins and techniques used, and then create their own artwork. They will have 3 hours to explore and enjoy glasses of wine.
